To the 'Bentz DUI' 女 DJ who blamed the dead victim...Prosecutors seek 15 years in prison
Prosecutors have demanded a 15-year prison term for a 20-year-old club DJ, identified only by his surname Ahn, who hit and killed a motorcycle delivery driver while driving under the influence of alcohol in Gangnam, Seoul, at dawn.
The prosecution asked the court to sentence the defendant to 15 years in prison at the final hearing of Ahn's case of dangerous driving death, escape, and drunk driving under the Road Traffic Act, which was held at the hearing of Judge Kim Ji-young of the Seoul Central District Court on the 11th.
The prosecution said, "There has been no recovery from the damage, and there have been numerous petitions for severe punishment from the people," adding, "Considering the normalcy after the crime, such as the result of the invasion of life, the crime is heavy, so we must be held accountable."
"I sincerely kneel down and apologize to the victims who lost their lives. I also sinned to die for the bereaved families who would be enduring the pain," Ahn said. "I will deeply reflect on my wrongdoings and learn the world through service at the lowest point in society."
Ahn is accused of hitting and killing a motorcycle delivery man A in February while driving a Mercedes-Benz car after drinking in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
On the day of the incident, Ahn violated the central line, hit another vehicle, and hit the man while running away. At that time, Ahn's blood alcohol level was 0.221 percent, which was about to be revoked.
