The overpass near Sindorim Station...Full control of bike lanes and walkways
The overpass near Sindorim Station in Seoul, which has been open for about six and a half years, fell and traffic was restricted. According to Yonhap News Agency on the 3rd, the Dorim Bogo Overpass, which connects Dorim-dong and Sindorim Station in Yeongdeungpo-gu, fell at 1:40 a.m. on the same day, completely controlled the overpass, lower bicycle paths, and trails. At 1:01 a.m. on the same day, the police received a 112 report that the middle of the Dorim Bogo Overpass had fallen, and were dispatched to the scene to control the entry of the two-way entrance of the overpass and the Dorimcheon promenade. Eleven fire engines and 45 firefighters were also mobilized to respond to the scene. According to an on-site investigation, some of the support cement and railing steel that supported the overpass were damaged, but no casualties were reported. Currently, Yeongdeungpo-gu has installed a control fence and deployed on-site personnel to manage it. The Seoul Metropolitan Government sent a safety notice announcing traffic restrictions around 6 a.m. during rush hour, asking, "Residents who use it should take a detour." Yeongdeungpo-gu and the Seoul Metropolitan Government will identify the exact cause through on-site investigations. Dorim Bogo Overpass is a 2.5m wide and 104.6m long pedestrian bridge that connects Dorim-dong and Sindorim Station with Dorimcheon Stream in between. It is an arch without piers in a truss structure made by weaving steel materials into triangles. Construction began in April 2015 with a total project cost of 2.8 billion won and opened at the end of May 2016.
