Plastic Surgeon Dismisses Warrant for Suspicion of Providing Lee Sun-kyun Drugs
An arrest warrant for a Gangnam plastic surgeon suspected of providing drugs to actor Lee Sun-kyun (48) through the head of an entertainment bar was rejected by the court.
Lee Kyu-hoon, a senior judge in charge of warrants at the Incheon District Court, rejected the arrest warrant after conducting a questionnaire (examination of the validity of the warrant) before the arrest of A (42), a plastic surgeon suspected of being involved in the drug management law.
Judge Lee said, "It is difficult to admit the necessity of arrest given the degree of clarification of the criminal charges, the room for dispute, the progress of the investigation, and the suspect's housing, occupation, and family relationship."
A is suspected of providing drugs to Lee and others through B (29, female), the head of an entertainment business in Gangnam. B, who was arrested and charged earlier, worked at an entertainment business in Gangnam and made friends with celebrities, and provided Lee with his house as a place for drug administration.
The police previously raided A's house and the hospital he runs in Gangnam, Seoul, and secured various medical records and his vehicle. The hospital he operates is known to have been warned by health authorities because there have been many cases of excessive prescription of propofol this year.
