Earlier, President Yoon was briefed on a number of cardiac arrest reports in Itaewon at 10:22 p.m. on the 29th, issued the first and second emergency orders, and presided over an emergency situation inspection meeting at the crisis management center at the presidential office building in Yongsan. President Yoon ordered that "the first priority issue be patient escort and relief." It also ordered securing ambulance routes, dispatching emergency medical teams (DMATs), and securing emergency beds at nearby hospitals, as it was reported that ambulances and medical staff were unable to access the Itaewon accident site. As of 3 a.m., the fire department identified 120 deaths in the Itaewon disaster and 100 injuries. Among the injured, there is a possibility of additional deaths.
