'India will be vaccinated in 3,000 locations across the country.'

India will be vaccinated against the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) in 3,000 locations across the country from the 16th.

According to Indian media on the 15th, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially announce the start of vaccination through a video conference on the morning of the 16th.

India has approved the emergency use of two types of vaccines. It is an AstraZeneca-Oxford University vaccine (Covishield) made by local company Serum Institute (SII) and a vaccine (nose vaccine) from local company Barat Biotech.

India will start vaccinating 10 million medical staff first. On the first day of distribution, about 300,000 medical staff will be vaccinated.

Following the medical staff, the authorities will be inoculated against quarantine front workers such as police, soldiers, and civil servants, and those in their 50s or older, or those with chronic diseases with complications under 50s. The number of people subject to vaccination amounts to 300 million.

India's cumulative number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 stood at 10,527,638, up 15,590 from the previous day.

India's cumulative number of confirmed cases is the world's second-largest after the U.S., but the number of new confirmed cases per day, which once reached nearly 100,000, has dropped significantly to the mid-10,000 mark recently.
