'U.S. President Donald Trump is considering measures to restrict Chinese students'

U.S. President Donald Trump is considering measures to restrict Chinese students from entering the U.S., the U.S. political media The Hill reported on the 31st (local time).

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in an interview with WMAL, a Washington, D.C. radio on the 31st (local time), "President Trump is putting weight on restrictions on Chinese students' entry into the U.S.," adding, "We will announce new measures against China within weeks or months."

"Not all Chinese students coming to the U.S. will study according to the Communist Party's instructions, but President Trump is seriously considering it," he added.

The answer stems from the question of how the Trump administration is making efforts to extract U.S. confidential information using research students.

On the 28th of last month, the University of Virginia was caught trying to steal software codes that Chinese researchers had been developing for years, and in July, a military researcher who hid relations with Chinese troops and issued U.S. student visas was found in California, The Hill reported.

Earlier on the 23rd (local time), President Trump harshly criticized the U.S. in an interview with Fox News program hosted by political commentator Steve Hilton, saying, "No country has ripped off the U.S. more than China."

"We lose billions of dollars, hundreds of billions of dollars, and we get nothing from China," he said.

President Trump has already expressed his strong stance that he will consider breaking ties with China in the worst case scenario.
