A Korean woman was reportedly found dead while climbing Annapurna in the Himalayas of Nepal. According to the Nepalese Korean community on the 16th (local time), a traveler found a body believed to be a Korean woman in her 50s at Torongla Pass, one of Annapurna's trekking courses, and reported it to the local police at 1 p.m. the previous day. The road is called the world's tallest hill and is more than 5,000 meters above sea level. Local police reportedly confirmed Kim's specific identity through documents. Nepalese sources say the woman died while trekking alone without a guide. "She is believed to have collapsed and died after suffering from alpine disease." Nepalese authorities have decided to send a helicopter to recover the body. Police will then investigate the exact cause of death. However, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, "No specific information such as identity has been confirmed yet." This is not the first time a Korean has died on the Annapurna trekking course. In January 2019, four Korean teachers were swept away by an avalanche and died in a crash.
