Experiential learning bus accident at Samga Tunnel in Yongin…Seven people injured

Four cars, including an experience learning bus with elementary and high school students, were hit one after another at Samga Tunnel on the 2nd Ring Expressway in the Seoul metropolitan area near Yongin.

According to Yonhap News Agency on the 6th, seven people were injured at 9:23 a.m. when four cars, including two experiential learning buses, were involved in a collision at Samga Tunnel in Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province, on the 2nd Ring Expressway in the Seoul metropolitan area in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.

The accident occurred when a 45-seater bus collided with another 45-seater bus and hit the Kona and Sportage one after another.

Seven people, including a student, who was on the bus and was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the Kona and Sportage are said to have suffered minor injuries.

It was confirmed that these buses were heading to Everland with a total of 50 students, including elementary, middle, and high school students and teachers in Jeollabuk-do.

The police believe that one bus caused the accident because it failed to slow down in the congested section, and are investigating the exact circumstances.
