'Toysrus closes all offline stores in the U.S.'

Toysrus, a U.S. toy company called "Toy Heaven," closes all offline stores in the U.S.

According to CNBC on the 30th (local time), Toygerus recently closed its store at Galleria Mall in Houston, Texas, and the Garden State Plaza Mall (photo), the last store left in the U.S., will also close next week. As a result, Toygerus disappeared from the U.S. and disappeared into history, CNBC said.

Founded in 1948 by Charles Lazarus, a former veteran of the war, Toygerus has been successful enough to pay $11.5 billion in sales at 1,600 stores around the world. However, the company collapsed rapidly as offline retailers such as Wal-Mart and online companies represented by Amazon were pushed back by strong attacks and children preferred games using smartphones instead of traditional toys.

In September 2017, he filed for bankruptcy protection in a Virginia court, followed by liquidation the following year and withdrew from most countries, leaving only some stores, including Europe. Since then, True Kids has tried to take over Toysrus' brand and intellectual property rights, but it has been hit hard by the aftermath of the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) last year. True Kids plans to continue to operate Toys Gurus homepage and focus on online sales.
